English Learning
At The Little English School we use effective modern techniques to create enjoyable and interesting lessons. Lessons are held in our classroom on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturdays and each of these days will consist of three one-hour lessons (15 hours per week).
On day one, our students complete a short diagnostic test to determine their level of English. We then tailor-make a course to suit them, covering age-related topics. Children work individually and in small groups as appropriate to the activity. If we have more than one student with the same mother tongue, they are mixed during group activities.
We focus on expanding vocabulary by means of lots of conversation related excersises and role-play. We set the students investigation tasks such as "finding out about the area". This may involve using the Internet, asking local people in the village, the library, telephone calls etc. This is usually a group activity and we find it a fantastic way of building their confidence in learning.
We aim to improve grammar, pronunciation and listening skills using a wide range of appropriate learning materials. The students will write a daily journal and we often incorporate a project into the course.
All course work materials are provided, although it is often helpful for students to bring a bilingual dictionary to the lessons.
Although there is a very strong emphasis on learning our lessons are also FUN!
Certificates and prizes are awarded on the last lesson of their stay.
